Gamma food is gamma irradiated, therefore eliminating any risk of introducing harmful parasites or bacteria into your aquarium. This also means that the food is completely safe to store in your freezer.

Blister packs are designed to dispense one measured cube of food at a time, leaving the rest of the product sealed within their separate blisters. A quick and convenient way of feeding fish.

DT's Oyster Eggs

Oyster eggs are very small, soft and very nutritious being high in protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Frozen oyster eggs can be dispersed into the water column to feed most small mouthed stony corals, sea fans, gorgonians and soft corals that feed on small particle food. Target feeding with a pipette is also effective. To ensure the complete uptake of the oyster eggs, turning off the protein skimmer for at least an hour when feeding is highly recommended.

Premium Cured Indonesian Live Rock

This photo was taken at Calico, and is a typical example of a piece of our rock weighing approximately 4 kilos.

Indonesian rock is very similar to the rock imported from Fiji and Tonga, but it tends to be more porous, making it great value for money. We only ship our most colourful pieces and always supply a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing you to create the perfect aquascape.

Please note that we sell live rock in the shop for £9.00 per kilo. To encourage more online orders, we have discounted it to £8.50 per kilo on our website. Grab yourself a bargain! This offer is not available in store.

It's What We Do

We sell just about everything you can think of relating to the marine and tropical freshwater fishkeeping hobby. You'll find brand names such as Deltec, D-D Aquarium Solutions, Aqua Medic, Sera, Red Sea, New Era, Gamma, Tropic Marin, Eheim, Arcadia, Aqua One and more for sale both in our shop and online.

The shop itself has been running in Plumpton near Penrith for over 10 years and in that time we have gained a wealth of experience that we are only to happy to share!

We usually display at least 10 different tanks and cabinets in our showroom, ranging from £100 to over £3000. We also hold a certain amount of standard size stock tanks on our premises.

Bespoke cabinets can be made to your exact specifications and come in a variety of wood finishes as well as silver and black. Choose from a pelmet or hood design in either wood veneer or melamine, safe in the knowledge that both are designed specifically for the aquatics industry and are guaranteed to be safe in wet, salty environments.

If you decide to order a tank or cabinet, we ask for a 10% deposit and aim to have it ready for collection within 3 weeks, sometimes a lot less.

Tanks come with cover glass and your choice of clear or black silicon.

You can also arrange for us to deliver your tank or cabinet, but we usually charge a fee for this service.

Need a sump tank? Calico Aquatics can design and build one that is totally right for your system for as little as £60 for a 36 x 15 x 15. Choose from miracle mud, live rock rubble or deep sand bed.

We are also experts in closed loop and weir systems and can build these into any bespoke tank and cabinet set up. It is also possible for us to convert Aqua One systems to accomodate your chosen sump tank design.
